About Me

I enjoy writing picture books and middle grade novels with heart and humor! So many aspects of writing appeal to me:  the rhythm of language, the sounds of words, the fun and emotion of story. What an honor to help children develop a lifelong love of reading!
I’m a chocolate-eating, chai tea latte-drinking, yoga-practicing wife and Mom of a middle school-aged boy. My Scottish Westie and I walk the Highlands of Pennsylvania each morning, usually after my spin class. Spending time in nature centers me and sparks my creativity. I'm also a member of SCBWI and an active critique group participant.

I graduated with honors from Sweet Briar College, an all-women's liberal arts college in Virginia. I  used my English Literature major first as a Speech-Language Pathologist specializing in Pediatrics. I read lots of picture books with my language delayed kids! Currently, I'm a part-time pastor of a small congregation.
Interesting facts about me:  I begin most days writing (and drinking the aforementioned lattes).
I went to Space Camp (yes, like the movie). I have earned three Master’s degrees (that's more than any one person actually needs!).
